Summer '19 Family Trip Part 1

Florida Family Vacation

Our big trip during the summer of 2019 was to visit our loving family in Florida. We couldn't wait to see them all again and had a ton of adventures planned. We left for our week long trip on a Saturday, and drove all the way down to my Nanny's house in Winter Park, Florida.

Sunday: Church, Pictures, & Shopping

On the first day of our trip, we went to my Nanny's church and got to meet some of her friends. After the service, we walked around the garden and took some family and senior pictures. Then, we headed home to get changed before meeting up with my Aunt Betsy to go shopping.

We went to Target to get some things and then shopped with my Aunt at Ross. There, she actually surprised us with buying Zooey, mom, and me some clothing as "I Love You" presents. We got some shirts and dresses, and were so thankful to be able to spend time with our family.

Monday: Family, Crescent Beach, & Ocean Views

That Monday, Zooey, mom, and I left Nanny for a day to meet up with my mom's sister, my Aunt Alex, and her boys, our cousins Aidan and Charlie. We split a beautiful oceanfront hotel suite with her so we could spend Monday and Tuesday morning at St. Augustine's Crescent Beach.

The ocean was absolutely beautiful! During our family beach trip, I played in the ocean with Aidan and mom, and laughed and loved every single moment. We ordered pizza and ate cookie cake that was decorated for both 4th of July and Aidan's 8th birthday. That night, us Bush Girls took a walk on the beach and ran in the sand.

Tuesday: Sea Sunrises, Walks, & Goodbyes

We woke up early Tuesday morning to watch the stunning sea sunrise from our private balcony. At first, we thought we had missed it, but as mom and I kept looking out over the endless ocean, the sun broke over the horizon and bestowed upon us all its red, orange, and yellow glory.

After the sunrise, mom and I headed out to take a morning walk on the beach, taking some Polaroid pictures as we went. Before we left Alex and the boys to head back to Nanny's, we visited and played in the ocean one more time. After playing in the ocean, we swam in the pool for a bit. I watched the boys as mom packed up the car and then we got ready to say our goodbyes. We all hugged and watched each other leave, and then we were off to head back to Winter Park.

Wednesday: Books, The Mall, & Celebrities

On Wednesday, Nanny took mom and me to the public library she volunteers at and we bought some books. I always make sure to visit the library each time we're with her. Then, we dropped Zooey off at Track Shack, my Aunt and Uncle's race store, so she could help out, while mom and I went to the Florida Mall. On our way there, mom told me stories of her youth and pointed out the places she grew up with.

At the mall, while shopping at our favorite stores, mom received a text message from our cousin Chris who was helping Zooey volunteer. While Zooey was working at the race registration area, she got to give Carrot Top his 4th of July race packet! It was so crazy, and mom and I were freaking out.

More Adventure To Come...
