Chasin Waterfalls

Mother Nature

I have always loved to be out in nature, taking in our Earth and all that we have. Being outside is a literal and figurative breath of fresh air. I truly believe in living in the moment, even when it can be hard to do, and being out in nature is one of the best ways for me to do so.

I love mountains and hikes and forests and oceans, but waterfalls are some of my favorite things in the whole world. They're incredibly beautiful and serene, and just looking at them makes me so grateful to be alive and in this world.

Little River Falls

One of my favorite waterfalls is Little River Falls in Fort Payne, Alabama. You walk down these stairs and then there it is: a huge, gorgeous waterfall with a swimming area of rapids and rocks on the top and a large expanse of flowing water below that flows all the way down to a swimming hole of rushing waters and climbing rocks.

We discovered this heaven of rock and water last summer and couldn't wait to visit it again. This summer we went again to a different experience, for the waters on top of the waterfall were a bit lower. This time we climbed on the top for a shorter period of time, looking out over the edge and getting real close to the fall itself. The view was spectacularly filled with trees and cliffs and little falls.

Hiking To The Swimming Hole

After, we wanted to see if we could find the swimming hole we didn't get to go to during our last visit. We then embarked on a few mile long hike through the trees and bluffs of the river side until we finally made it to a steep rock staircase down to the hole.

We played around and faced the strong current of the running water. We climbed on top of giant rocks and looked out over the waters. Zooey and I even tried climbing along all the rocks all the way up to the waterfall, but it started getting too treacherous and was too far away.

The Summer Life

Before leaving, mom, Zooey, and I all sat on top of some of the ledges in the water, looking out over all the beauty. We all love to be surrounded by nature, enjoying the wonderful summer air and sunshine

Getting to go back to our favorite waterfall spot was so much fun and we can't wait to go back again! We hope to find even more new waterfalls in the future, appreciating this fantastic world and time with family!
