Volleyball Senior Night 2k19
An Honorable Five Volleyball Years
Senior year marks the end of my high school volleyball journey. I can't believe I was finally honored at the volleyball senior night after all those years of hard work and dedication. I started Trojan Volleyball as an eighth grader and made it all the way as both a player and manager to senior year.
Senior Season Ceremony!
That Thursday night, I arrived at the volleyball gym with my mother and father and helped out before the game. I filled water bottles, supported my team, and talked to my friend Sydney on yearbook.
Then, it was time for the ceremony. I lined up with my parents and they called our names. We walked onto the court, shaking hands with our administrators and hugging our coaches. Then, my friend Mikenli handed me a picture frame with a volleyball picture in it and some lovely roses. We all took pictures as the other seniors and their families were honored.
A Line Judge For Five Insane Sets & A Win
After, we all huddled together and then lined up, high-fiving and cheering. I line judged for all 5 crazy, intense sets as we battled East Coweta for the win. Both teams lost and won, lost and won, until finally, the Trojans took it all home! We won our senior night! Everyone was overjoyed, congratulating the other team for their effort and then running to the black-and-gold balloon and streamer decorated locker room to talk.
Coach Fitz-Simons, Coach Sanders, and Coach Harper were so proud of the team as the fighting for the win never stopped. As I line judged, I was able to have the best seat for every move and point; it was an incredibly strong and competitive game. I was so happy that, after all those volleyball senior nights I've been a part of, we won my very own night of honor.
A Celebratory Hot Wing Dinner & Dessert
After everything, we left the locker room to see our parents and go home; mom had left for her book club meeting and Zooey had arrived from play rehearsal. I said my goodbyes and then left to go get dinner with my family. We went to Zaxby's to get hot wings and french fries, drinking Raspberry Sprite and Coke. Then, we picked up mom and went home to eat.
At home, we took some more pictures and celebrated me and my special volleyball night, eating dinner and cookie cake while watching TV.
Overall, my many years in volleyball have been incredibly important to me as they have taken up many summer and fall days, evenings, and weekends, teaching me the important lessons of both competition and cooperation that can be used both on and off the court. I will always be grateful for the many lessons volleyball taught me as I use them to help me become an even more successful person in life. The friends I made and the coaches I connected with helped to make my high school experience complete as I became one with the significance of academics, athletics, and arts.
