Volleyball Senior Night 2k19

An Honorable Five Volleyball Years  Senior year marks the end of my high school volleyball journey. I can't believe I was finally honored at the volleyball senior night after all those years of hard work and dedication. I started Trojan Volleyball as an eighth grader and made it all the way as both a player and manager to senior year.  Senior Season Ceremony! That Thursday night, I arrived at the volleyball gym with my mother and father and helped out before the game. I filled water bottles, supported my team, and talked to my friend Sydney on yearbook. Then, it was time for the ceremony. I lined up with my parents and they called our names. We walked onto the court, shaking hands with our administrators and hugging our coaches. Then, my friend Mikenli handed me a picture frame with a volleyball picture in it and some lovely roses. We all took pictures as the other seniors and their families were honored.  A Line Judge For Five Insane Sets & A Win After, we all huddle...

A Happy 18th Birthday!

September 20th 2019 On September 20th 2001, Madison Anna Bush was born, and on that day 18 years later, she, legally, became an adult! Yay! My birthday was really amazing. I was showered with love and fun as I hit the big 1 8. I couldn't have asked for a better birthday as my friends, teachers, and family made me feel so special. Birthday Decor, Birthday Breakfast, & A Birthday School Day That morning, I started the day waking up to the house covered in birthday posters, ribbons, and lights. My mom always celebrates our birthdays with decorating with house in little posters that are meaningful and funny as they represent who we are and our special day. I walked around reading the posters before getting dressed in a nice dress and jewelry.  Before we left for school, Zooey had me open her gift; she got me a silver necklace of my astrological sign's constellation: Virgo! I loved it and thanked her as we got in the car to head for breakfast.  We stopped at Starbucks for a bi...

A Truly International Baccalaureate Day  On September 19th, 2019, the IB Diploma Program juniors and seniors took a field trip to the High Museum of Art in Atlanta. I had never been to the museum before, and was excited to go, for I love to experience different museums. I've been to many museums throughout my life, including the Storm King Art Center, the Museum of Natural History, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, The Museum of Modern Art, and even more art, history, and aviation museums.  To Atlanta! That Thursday, we left school early in the morning to get on the bus for Atlanta. When we got there, we all checked in, talked for a bit, and then split up to explore the museum on our own. I broke into a group with Haley, Adrianna, Cirel, Heidi, and McKenna. We walked around, looking at and appreciating all the paintings and sculptures and historical artifacts.  Eventually, we split up again, Haley and I exploring on our own so ...

Come As You Are  Since 7th grade, I've been lucky enough to experience Camp Mikell. Throughout the year, my church connects with other churches throughout the country up in these beautiful, peaceful, and kind mountains to celebrate God and each other. As Episcopalians, we believe in the power of music and community as we accept each other for our differences and spread unconditional love. We believe in allowing people to come as they are without any fear of judgment or criticism, and when I go up to Camp Mikell, my transcendentalist side is allowed to brightly shine thorough as I surround myself with both nature and kindhearted people.   At my church, there aren't a lot of people my age, and those who are aren't interested in coming together as a community in creative activity and service. Thus, my experiences at Camp Mikell have always been made incredible by my family and the teams at camp. In 7th grade, I experienced DYC at Camp Mikell for the first time with a few kid...
