Staycation Time
My 2019 spring break was one of rest, shopping, treats, and movies. I had a great staycation with lots of family time and got to have fun at different places, while also getting to lay around all day with TV, exercise, books, and food.
Saturday & Sunday: Mall, Pizza, & Movies
On the first Saturday of spring break, I simply rested and watched TV with my family. That Sunday, we headed to the mall and walked around before bringing home a delicious pizza to eat while watching
The Favourite. That day, I got a new dress to wear for when I'm a Junior Honor Marshal at the end of the school year and some jewelry for prom.
Monday: College, Pastries, & Coffee
Then, on Monday, I went on my very first college tour with my mom. We headed all the way up to Mount Berry to wander the largest campus in the world known as Berry College. Once there, I was given a folder and map along with a Berry T-shirt and coupon to a local coffee shop. First, our group was talked to by an admissions counselor, and then, our tour guides came in and we all introduced ourselves. We took little buses and walked around the majority of the campus, getting to talk to students and professors that we came across. The campus was very beautiful and definitely my top private university choice.

After the tour, mom and I went to Panera for lunch and bought some pastries to take home. Then, we headed over to a Ross, TJ Maxx, and Goodwill to see if we could find any cool clothes, before heading over to Swift & Finch Coffee to use our Berry coupon. At the end, we drove home to watch TV and eat treats, all the while stressing and being sad about me leaving home in a too little over a year.
Tuesday: Rest, Cats, & Face Masks
Tuesday, the family had a rest day, enjoying movies on the couch and exercise. We even did some cool, and painful, face masks!
Wednesday: Shopping, Italian, & Ice Cream
Wednesday, all four of us headed all the way up to the Mall of Georgia. We went around to different stores within the mall in search of more prom essentials like shoes and jewelry. We stopped at the Macy's and found the perfect pair of shoes and some gold rings. Then, we went to Icing and found two beautiful and shiny gold pairs of earrings for me to choose from. We also went to my very favorite clothing retailer, Abercrombie & Fitch, and got me a brand new pair of black jeans and a cute camisole. For a snack, we all tried a delicious smoothie bowl made with Açaí and topped with kiwi, banana, and strawberries, all drizzled with honey. During this shopping adventure, Zooey and dad couldn't handle the patience and determination that shopping requires, so for the most part, they stayed in the Petland Puppies the mall had to offer.

After the mall, we stopped by my favorite used book store in Georgia, 2nd & Charles, to look at books and then, to Michaels to buy paint and jewelry supplies. For dinner, we ate at Olive Garden and then stopped to pick up some chocolate and strawberry ice cream to eat while we watched another movie.
Thursday: Pizzas, Jewelry, & Books
Thursday, we were granted another rest day, and mom made homemade white, pesto, and cheese pizzas, but before eating them, I decided to make all of us zodiac sign necklaces, me being a Virgo, Zooey an Aries, and mom a Cancer. I also continued to read
The Reckoning of Noah Shaw by Michelle Hodkin each night before bed.
Friday: New Phones, Red Robin, & Shazam!
Friday, was another day of surprises, food, shopping, and movies. In the morning, mom and dad surprised Zooey and me with an outing to AT&T to get brand new phones! Both of us upgraded to the Product Red iPhone XR, and we even learned that part of our purchase contributed to raising awareness and funds to help eliminate HIV/AIDS in eight African countries.
After getting our new phones, we went out to Red Robin for lunch. Then, we headed to Newnan and walked around the shopping area, stopping at the Barnes & Noble and Great American Cookies store. Later that day, we went to the movie theater to see Shazam! All of us loved the movie and laughed the whole time.
Saturday & Sunday: Movies, Exercise, & Pancakes
The last two days of spring break were full of rest. Saturday, I ate breakfast in bed with mom while watching the Netflix movie,
The Highwaymen, based on the efforts to take down Bonnie and Clyde. I finished the day with an exercise routine and some TV and reading. Sunday, mom made us chocolate chip pancakes and bacon that we ate while watching a show together, I exercised, we watched Netflix's
Unicorn Store, we ate my dad's homemade tacos, and then I prepared for the approaching school week.
One More To Go...
Overall, my staycation was fantastic! I loved getting to stay home and relax, while also getting to go out on mini road trips with my family. I loved all the movies, treats, adventures, exercises, books, gifts, and laughs I got to experience and have all because of my family loving to spend time with each other during spring break. Now, the school year is coming to a close, and I only have one more high school spring break left, which is both terrifying and exciting, but I can't wait for this summer to be here and all that is sure to come!
