Many Years of March Birthdays!

Florida Family Reunion

This month was my great grandmother's 90th birthday, and of course, my family needed to celebrate! We decided that we would have a big family reunion down in Florida for the weekend of her birthday and be together for this grand event. The Thursday before her day, my mom, dad, sister, and me all left school and started our journey towards Newberry, Florida.

Thursday & Friday: Antiques, Pez, & Ice Cream

That Thursday night, we stayed with my mom's younger sister, Alex, and her kids before heading to Winter Park, Florida the next morning. That Friday, all of us headed down to my Nanny's home. On the way, we stopped at a few antique markets and bought some Pez and books. Once there, we all ate manicotti together and had a little ice cream party for my sister's upcoming birthday. My little family stayed in a beautiful hotel with some other family members, while the other part of my family hosted other members in their Florida homes.

Saturday: Running, Books, & French Toast

Saturday morning, the day of her birthday, our family got together to begin the spectacular day. First, we participated in the Winter Park Road Race my Aunt and Uncle put on every year within their famous running business, Track Shack. My family has running in their blood, so it was awesome to come down in March to all run together again. After the race, my dad and I went to an old used bookstore and then, to IHOP for lunch.

Saturday: Food, Pictures, & Travel

Saturday night was party time! We all gathered at my Aunt and Uncle's house to celebrate my Nanny. There was an amazing catered meal of various delicacies with two chocolate cakes! We did a few thousand family pictures that was incredibly intense due to the fact that everyone in my family has very colorful and big personalities, combined with all the little ones we had to get to sit still. However, family love and celebration still managed to survive throughout the air. Nanny was so happy and grateful that we were all there on her special day, traveling from New York, Georgia, North Carolina, all over Florida, and more. She loved her presents and seeing all her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Sunday: Pool, Adventures, & Home

Sunday, we hung out at the pool for a little bit before packing up and checking out of the hotel. Later that day, we were back on the road and headed toward our Bush family home. On the way, we stopped at places and ate fun food before finally arriving home late at night.

90 Years Young

Overall, it was so great getting together in Florida for our Nanny who turned a marvelous 90 years young. I love getting to spend time with her and hear of past memories and adventures that my family has known throughout life, and I can't wait to hear more and see her and my family again this summer.

March Babies

Also, March happens to not only be my great grandmother's birthday, but also my Aunt Jillian's and little sister, Zooey's, month of celebration. Zooey will turn 13 this month, and I truly can't believe how fast time goes by. I remember when she was just a crazy, talented little girl I loved, and now, she just isn't little anymore! I can't wait to share even more memories with her when we get older, and I hope to continue to grow closer in the future. HAPPY BIRTHDAY to all of my amazing March babies within my family; I'm so excited for another year of adventure and love to come!
