Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast

Pancake Breakfast Time

For two years, I have been a part of Key Club, and every year the club volunteers at the Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser. The fundraiser goes towards multiple extremely important and amazing causes, and I can't believe the amount of support and compassion that goes into the organization. Many, many people from all around the community show up to volunteer, donate, and contribute in any way they can to this wide spread organization that does so much good in the world.

Volunteering Through The Years

Each year, people within the club at my school sign up for a weekend in February to work the event. In the past, I have signed up with a few friends for a specific Saturday and have volunteered in multiple positions. When I was in junior high, I volunteered at the same event within Builders Club, a branch of Kiwanis, and worked the juice stand and cleaning station. Then, in Key Club last year, I again poured many cups of coffee, juice, and water for tons of supportive pancake eaters within the community. This year, I walked around the building pouring coffee and cleaning tables with my friend Katie, while Zooey poured lots of drinks. It felt so good to be back and helping out.

Delicious!

After volunteering, I sat down at our table, and the organization let the volunteers eat some of the pancake breakfast. The pancakes were delicious with lots of syrup and eggs! We stayed for a little bit, talking with Katie, Mr. Brewer, Ms. Hibbard, and my mom before leaving.

'Till Next Time

Overall, volunteering at the Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast has always been one of my favorite service opportunities. I'm glad to know that the profits go towards amazing things, and it's great seeing the community come out to volunteer and support the cause. I can't wait to come back next year with Key Club during my senior year!
