Carrollton Cultural Arts Center Presents...
Pinocchio!!!
Last Friday, I got to experience the amazing play, Pinocchio, performed at the Carrollton Cultural Arts Center. The actors and actresses were truly enjoying their craft and clearly had worked so hard for their moment. The sets were well done, and the costumes glittered throughout every dance.
The Child AND The Glittering Fish
My little sister, Zooey, is an amazing actress and singer and performed in the production. She got to play a child visiting Pleasure Island, hoping to play on the rides and eat cotton candy and popcorn. She also got to act as a glittering fish trapped inside the belly of a whale. She led the other little sea creatures in a little twirling dance and played with a long, colorful ribbon.
The Puppeteer
I also got to watch my teacher, Mr. Brewer, perform in the show. He had the outstanding yet evil role of the puppeteer trying to trap poor Pinocchio. Mr. Brewer did an excellent, terrifying, and hilarious job as his star role as villain. I was very excited to greet him and tell him what a great job he and his son, who was also in the play, did.
A Family Of Performers
I, myself, have acted in a few productions and very much enjoy singing and all types of music. However, I haven't gotten to perform in a while due to scheduling and other activities getting in the way. Watching Zooey and Mr. Brewer perform made me miss singing with talented groups and getting to perform and dance with other artists. Being on stage, getting to perform the songs, dances, and acting you have worked so hard on is an incredible, freeing feeling. Performances coming together, and the audience cheering and whistling show that everything you worked for and all the time put in was completely and utterly worth it. I hope I can perform again very soon, and I can't wait for more upcoming performances, such as the play my mom is starring in that's hilariously named, In-laws Outlaws and Others Who Should Be Shot.
